Brian and I have always found great joy in new adventures. In the past this has typically involved a road trip and a tent, but today starts a new kind of adventure. After work, Brian will bring home our new puppy, Trigger. Yes, it is the same name as Roy Roger’s loyal horse. :) A client of mine had a chocolate lab, named Cocoa, that had a litter of 8 puppies back on December 21, 2010. We think the papa is their neighbor’s German Shepherd (thus explaining Trigger’s brown nose).
The adventure is truly for me (Karen), as I have never owned a dog or any animal for that matter. The closest experience to taking care of animals was at Phantom Ranch when I worked as wrangler for several years with the horses. Thus, I thought this would be a fun and interesting “adventure” to write about in a blog. Brian is very excited to be bringing home the puppy. He has wanted a dog for a while. Growing up, Brian had miniature schnauzers. With a Lab and Shepherd mix…I think Trigger is going to be everything but miniature. My sister-in-law and her husband have two large dogs: Great Pyrenees (Brie) and a Newfoundland (Guinness). Can you just picture what it will be like when we all have them in the same room? :)
